Janet Carol Peterson (Penkava) was called home to join the Lord on October 17, 2013. She was born August 30, 1953 to Delores and Edward Penkava of Table Rock Nebraska. While she was in school, she was very active.  he played the trumpet and the tuba, she played volleyball and she was a very good student. She graduated from Table Rock High School, whose colors are Orange and Black – and yet she convinced her classmates to  rder  nd wear purple robes for graduation, purple was her favorite color. After high school she continued her education at Wesleyan University to become a RN. After graduation she was hired at Bryan Memorial Hospital and  orked there until a career ending injury in 1995. She loved to take care of her fellow man, and she was a very good nurse. Janet was married to the love of her life, Dennis Peterson, on April 3, 1976. Together they built a life surrounded by family, friends and love. Of this union 2 children were born, a daughter Carie and a son Eric. Together, Janet and Dennis managed the mayhem of family life and did so until Dennis’s death in April of 2006.  hey were both crazy about their kids, and their grandkids, Lucas and Jaeden. Since Janet was such a loving person, she was the ultimate mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family and leaves a void in their hearts. Janet loved to learn about anything, and some of her interests were in paleontology, anthropology and history. If there was a book or a TV show that would even brush those subjects she wanted to learn or watch it. Janet had  he opportunity to do hands on learning when she traveled to Egypt and to Ireland. She loved to collect things, and sometimes it seems she loved to collect collections. Another of her interests were her numerous friends.  any of her friendships started in primary school, and were maintained until her death. Janet was a generous soul, and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She would have had a zoo if it were allowed, as she  as an animal lover. She will be remembered as someone that was sent to help the helpless, give hope to the hopeless and to love everyone as everyone loved her.
