A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Summerfield, Kansas with Father Jim Shaughnessy officiating. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Summerfield, Kansas Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Wherry Mortuary, 919 "G" Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. William “Bill” H. Morehead July 21, 1928 ~ March 11, 2018

William “Bill” H. Morehead, 89 years of age, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Burchard passed away Sunday March 11, 2018 at his home in Plano. He was born on July 21, 1928 in rural Pawnee County, Nebraska to Elmer and Ruth (Madden) Morehead. Bill graduated from Burchard High School. He retired from the United States Army as a Major. Bill married Verna Stake on February 12, 1951 in Burchard. Bill retired from Montgomery Wards in 1983, after retirement he owned Chiquita Cafe in Summerfield, KS. He was a member of the Beatrice Masonic Lodge 26, Scottish Rite Valley of Lincoln, Sesostris Shrine, Sesostis Shrine Mustangs, Burchard United Methodist Church and served on the Burchard Cemetery Association for many years. He enjoyed time with family, working in the yard, his dog Jesse, driving his Mustang convertible, and meeting friends for coffee.
