Ray C. McDiffett, 91, Lincoln, died 1/22/15. He was born 10/20/23 in Broughton, KS to Johnny & Agnes (Barker) McDiffett. He retired from Meginnis Ford after 18 years as Service Manager. He was a member of Havelock United Methodist Church, a WWII Army Air Force Veteran, DAV Chapter 7, Lincoln, VFW Post 9875 and American Legion Post 0305,Waverly. Family includes: Merna, wife of 67 years; daughters; Cheryl (John) Dahlgren, Pawnee City, NE, Vicki (Mike) Miller, Branson, MO, Lynne (Roy) Pyle, Dayton, OH and Patti (Greg) Hoegermeyer, Herman, NE; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Visitation was on Sunday (1/25/15), 2-8pm with the family greeting friends from 5-7pm at Roper & Sons Mortuary, 4300 “O” St., Lincoln, NE. Memorial service was at 10:30am Monday at Havelock United Methodist Church, 4140 No. 60th St., Lincoln, NE 68507. Memorials may be given to the church. Edis Jean (Sheik) Winchell

Edis Jean (Sheik) Winchell, age 91, died at home in Axtell, Kansas on January 16, 2015. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, at the United Methodist Church in Axtell. Rev Shirley Edgerton officiated.
Lila Alfers was organist and the congregation sang “How Great Thou Art” and “How Great is Thy Faithfulness”. A recording of “Remember Me” by Annette Winchell Farrior was played. Visitation was Tuesday, 10:00
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home, Axtell.  Pallbearers were Dale Shirley, Chet Koester, John Duncanson, Jeremy Brandt, Kyle Winchell and Allen Pokorny. Burial was in theRose Hill Cemetery in Axtell.
Edis was born on August 15, 1923 in Crab Orchard, Nebraska  o James Douglas Sheik and Edna  Fay (Waidely) Sheik. Her father operated a hardware store in Crab Orchard and was also a mortician. In 1930 he moved his

David L. Weyer

David L. Weyer, 64 years of age, of Liberty, NE passed away unexpectedly at the Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 2015. He was born on October 16, 1950 in Beatrice to Marvin and  Evelyn (Paul) Weyer, was a 1969 graduate of Barneston High School, and received an Associate Degree in business from Fairbury Junior College. David and Rita Rohlmeier were married, and to this union two sons were born, Justin and Devin. They were later divorced. He lived in the Barneston and Liberty areas most of his life, and in Pawnee City for 8 years. He was a very active member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Wymore and had served as an elder; was an assistant coach and organizer of the Barneston Pee Wee basketball league; had been a member of the Barneston Township Board and had operated a maintainer for the township for many

Arlene F. (Sejkora) Stanley, 88, of Lincoln, died January 11, 2015. Arlene was born February 3, 1926, to Ernest & Anna (Edie) Ray in Pawnee City, NE. Arlene is survived by her children Pam (Herb) Schrader, Penne (John)
Hanus; step-children Richard (Marcia) Ernst, Melvin (Lori) Stanley, Eldon (Sue) Stanley; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Stan Sejkora; infant daughter, Marsha; second husband, Rex Stanley; siblings, Glen Ray & Eva Jo Manley. A Celebration of Arlene’s Life was at 11:00 am Thursday, January 15, at Temple Baptist Church, Rev. Jeremy D. Penrod officiating. Interment was at 3:00 pm in the Burchard Cemetery. Visitation was at 12pm-8pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home. Family was present from 6pm-8pm. Becky Lynn (Bstandig) Rowland

Becky Lynn (Bstandig) Rowland, 39, of Tecumseh, passed away Dec. 30, 2014 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She was born to Larry and Dorothy (Jones) Bstandig on Dec. 26, 1975 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Becky was raised on a farm near Burchard, Nebraska. She attended Burchard Public  Schools until the 5th grade when he school closed. She then went to Lewiston Consolidated where she graduated in 1994 and was Salutatorian of her class. She was a member of 4-H and showed horses and cattle and was an avid cook and cake decorator. Becky played softball for the Burchard Eagles in the summers. Becky attended Peru State College and graduated with a B.A. in Education with Distinction in 1998. She taught music at Dawson-Verdon Public School, Southeast Consolidated Schools and at Farragut and Sydney, IA from 1998 to 2005. Becky then decided to go back to school at Hamilton

She was born on Monday, September 20, 1920 at Summerfield, Kansas to Byron and Anna (Nestle) Weirs. Dorothy married Howard Eastwood on July 26, 1941 and was employed at the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Michigan. The couple later moved to Pawnee County and farmed there
