Leon C. Campbell

Leon C. Campbell, age 69, of Falls City, NE, passed away Thursday, January 23, at the Falls City Community Medical Center. A funeral service for Leon C. Campbell was held Tuesday, January 28, at 11:30 a.m. at the First Church of Nazarene in Falls City, burial followed at the Steele Cemetery in Falls City. Leon C. Campbell son of Homer Willis Campbell and Leota (Eckley) Campbell was born on January  9, 1945 in Horton, KS. He was one
of 7 children born to this union. Leon lived on the Iowa reservation until nine years old when his family moved to Rulo, NE. Leon graduated from Reserve High School in 1963. He was united in marriage to Sally Miner on June
20, 1964. Together they raised three sons and one foster son. Leon had various jobs as a young man and in 1984 was elected Chairman of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska, working with Casino White Cloud for six

Lennis Leon Blecha, 71 of Table Rock, Nebraska passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at his home in Table Rock, Nebraska. He was born on September 30, 1942 to Alvin and Irene (Schultz) Blecha in Pawnee City, Nebraska. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the ZCBJ Hall, Du- Bois, Nebraska. Officiating will be Chaplin Sharon Schuster A register book will be available on Friday,
February 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. A private family inurnment will be at the Prospect Mound Cemetery, rural Humboldt at a later date. Norma Jean “Jeanne” Rohlmeier

Norma Jean “Jeanne” Rohlmeier, 74, formerly of DuBois, NE passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Life Care Center in Seneca. Jeanne was born August 15, 1939 in Seneca, KS the daughter of Raymond and Georgia (Coulter) Boltz. She attended Oneida schools and graduated from Oneida High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Howard Rohlmeier of DuBois, NE in August of 1957. Jeanne and Howard farmed until
Howard’s death in 2013. Over the years she had worked for Campbell’s Soup in Tecumseh, the sewing factory in Pawnee City, ran the café in DuBois, and worked part time for the rock quarry and Lee’s Bar in DuBois.

Spencer John Barr

Spencer John Barr was born February 2, 1987 to Skip and Lori (Frazee) Barr of Liberty, NE. Spencer went to heaven to meet Jesus on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013. Pneumonia took his life but not his dogged determination and fighting spirit. Spencer was raised on the family farm south of Liberty. He attended Southern Elementary School in Blue Springs, NE and later graduated from Southern High School in Wymore, NE with the class of 2005. Spencer was injured at the age of 9 in a car/pedestrian drunk driving tragedy in December of 1996. He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury which left him as a paraplegic with very limited use of his arms, hands,

Robert “Bob” W. Kettelhake

Robert “Bob” W. Kettelhake, 54, of rural Steinauer, passed away Dec. 22, 2013 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was born to Wilber and Mildred (Koehler) Kettelhake on August 10, 1959 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Bob was baptized August 23, 1959 by Rev. John Heins and confirmed May 6, 1973 by Rev. Harold Stelzer at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Elk Creek. Bob attended Tecumseh elementary through the fifth grade, 6th through 8th grades at St. Peter’s Parochial School, and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1977. He received his mechanics degree from the University Of Nebraska School Of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska in 1979.
After graduation, Bob went to Fairfield, Nebraska and worked for John Deere and then came back to the family farm. He also did construction work for a Co-op building large grain elevators for Virginia, Manley and Pickrell.

Marjorie J. Vrtiska

Marjorie J. Vrtiska, 96 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the Pawnee Manor, Pawnee City, Nebraska. She was born on September 30, 1917 to Henry and Myrtle (White) Steiner at rural Violet, Nebraska in Pawnee County. Marjorie lived in Pawnee County all her life. Marjorie graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1936. While in High School she played the piano and trombone in the band. She also
played the piano in several dance bands. Marjorie married Elmer W. Vrtiska on August 20th, 1937 at the Methodist parsonage in Beatrice, Nebraska. To this union 3 daughters where born, Barbara, Janet K. and Jo Ellen.
