Pawnee City Football

Head Coach
Scott Brumbaugh
Assistant Coach
Tyler Colvin
Last Year's Record: 2-6
Coach Brumbaugh’s season outlook: “We return a lot of players this season, however we need to change the attitude of the team and learn how to win. We played well most of last season, but just couldn’t fi nish games. In order to have a successful season someone needs to step up and share the load running the ball with Kaisonn Koester. TJ Mawhiney must be able to throw the ball to loosen the box up some and Andrew Davis is a great receiver, but we need more than just him to catch a football.

Pawnee City has a rich history of baseball & softball town teams

By Mike Bacon

(Editor’s Note: This history of baseball and softball in Pawnee City was written by former Pawnee City resident Mike Bacon. He is the son of Lee Bacon, a major figure in the local baseball and softball program history.)

The tradition of baseball in Pawnee City goes back as far as the founding of the city itself. In the earliest day through the turn of the 20th Century, baseball was popular but informal with get-up teams in town and numerous church teams in the rural areas.
