Fairview Golf Course to host Annual Memorial Day Golf Tournament

PAWNEE CITY - The Fairview Golf Course will host its Annual Memorial Day Golf Tournament on Monday, May 28th. The four-person scramble will be a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start for eighteen holes. The cost is $100 for a team with the meal included.

Pawnee City sends eight to State, Lewiston sends

AUBURN - The weather was warm and windy for the Class D-1 District Track Meet on Wednesday, May 9th. Track athletes from Pawnee City and Lewiston took advantage of the nice conditions as the Indians qualified eight for the State Track Meet in multiple events and Lewiston qualified one boy for the Tigers.

The Pawnee City boys finished as District runner-up with 81 total team points while Lewiston finished in 10th place with 16 points. The Pawnee City Lady Indians scored 56 points for 3rd place overall. Pawnee City's Andrew Davis will represent the Indians in three events at State including the Discus, 300 M. hurdles and the 3200 M. relay. Joining Davis on the additional qualifying relay team are Mason Lierz, Kodenn Koester and Kaden Lang.

Things heat up for HTRS at Class C-1 Districts

TECUMSEH - The Class C-1 District Track meet held on Thursday, May 10th was a very hot day of competition for the Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Titans. The competition was also very stiff for the Titans as they came up short of qualifying any track members for the State Track Meet.

The Freeman boys and the Lincoln Luthern girls won the District titles while the HTRS boys scored 8 points for 9th place and the girls scored 14 points also for 9th place.

The boys' best performance was from Caleb Tackett who placed 4th in the High Jump. For the girls, Carissa Allen placed 4th in the Shot Put and Natalie Novak finished 4th in the 100 M. Hurdles. All results are as follows.

Numerous medalists for area teams at Orville Rettig

NEBRASKA CITY - All three of our area teams scored well at the Orville Rettig Invitational which was held at Nebraska City on Friday, May 4th.

The Pawnee City boys won the Division with a team total of 158 points followed by Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer in 3rd place with 84 points. The Lewiston Tigers finished in 6th place with 26 points.

In the girls' division, Pawnee City placed 2nd with 98 points followed by the HTRS Lady Titans in 3rd place with 80 points. The Lewiston Lady Tigers finished 7th with 4 points.

Storms hold off for golfers at JCC Invitational

TECUMSEH - The Pawnee City, Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer and Lewiston golf teams played in decent conditions on Thursday morning, May 3rd at the Johnson County Central Invitational which was held at the Tecumseh Country Club.

Weather conditions held off for the teams as they competed in the nine-team tournament.

Johnson County Central won their own Invitational with a team score of 306. HTRS finished in 6th place in the team standings with a score 389. Neither Pawnee City nor Lewiston fielded a full team.

Individually, HTRS' Carter Drake turned in the best score in the varsity tournament with an 11th place finish with an 87. Titan teammate Jacob Joy shot a 90 for 15th place. HTRS' Cade Patzel scored a 107 and Trevor Plager shot a 118.

Track teams have perfect day for Pioneer Conference

PAWNEE CITY - Our area track teams were finally rewarded with a perfect day for the running of the 2018 Pioneer Conference track meet held on Saturday, April 28th. Other than the welcome sunshine, there were also some other bright spots for the day.

The Pawnee City boys claimed 4th place in the team standings with 56.5 points and the Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer girls finished 7th with 24 points. The Lewiston boys placed 10th with 15 points followed by HTRS in 11th place with 5 points and the Pawnee City Lady Indians claimed 8th place with 20 points. Individually, Pawnee City's Shamar Willey was the gold medalist in the boys' 110 M. hurdles with his time of 16.39 and teammate Andrew Davis claimed the gold in the Discus with a toss of 154'8".

Pawnee City boys place 2nd at Irish Invitational

SYRACUSE - The Pawnee City and Lewiston track teams participated in the Falls City Sacred Heart Invitational on Tuesday, April 17th.

The Pawnee City boys took home runner up honors with 87 total points while the Lewiston boys placed 7th with 23 points. The Pawnee City Lady Indians finished in 7th place with 45 points.

Tracksters brave another soggy, cold day at Mudecas

TRI-COUNTY - The weather conditions were less than stellar at the 2018 Mudecas Track Meet on Saturday, April 21st.

All three of our area track teams competed in wet, cold and windy conditions throughout multiple events which made for a miserable day.

Falls City Sacred Heart won the boys' division with 101 total points while the Pawnee City Indians finished in 6th place with 57.5 points. The Lewiston Tigers placed 13th with 16 points and Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer followed in 14th place with 7.5 points.

Spring season underway at HTRS Golf Invite

KIRKMAN'S COVE - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Golf Invitational was held on Tuesday, April 10th with eight teams in attendance on a slightly cool and misty day with a little sunlight between the clouds to start the spring season off.

The Johnson County Central team won the team championship with a score of 336 followed by Wymore Southern with a 372.

Tigers, Titans compete at Lewiston Track Invitational

PAWNEE CITY - The Lewiston and Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer track teams competed in fairly good weather conditions at the Lewiston Track Invitational which was held on Tuesday, April 10th at the Pawnee City track.

Lewiston's Holden Christen accounted for all of the Tigers' 19 points in the boys' division with his best performance in the 400 Meter Dash with a silver medal finish of 53.39. Lewiston finished 9th in the team competition.
