Southern spoils HTRS Homecoming, 56-0

Southern rolled up 341 yards on the ground en route to a 56-0 win over HTRS at Humboldt Friday, September 26th. It was Homecoming for the Titans. It was also a district game. HTRS is 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in District 2 of Class C-2. Southern is 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the District.

HTRS Lady Titans claim 3rd in Class B Mudecas

BEATRICE - The competition was tough once again at the 2014 Mudecas Volleyball Tournament held from Monday-Thursday, September 15th-18th. HTRS vs. Lewiston The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Lady Titans fare the
best out of all of our area teams as they took home 3rd place honors in the Class B Division. HTRS faced in-county rival Lewiston on Monday night and won in straight sets, 25-17, 25-9

Experienced Meridian team shuts out Tigers

LEWISTON - Meridian used just 37 plays to score 84 points as it routed Lewiston Consolidated 84-0 in Friday night football action at Lewiston. Lewiston is 0-3 and Meridian is 2-1. How does a team get 84 points? First it should be said Lewiston is very young and lost a lot of seniors this year. They are rebuilding. Meridian is not a top-notch team, however. Falls City Sacred Heart beat them, 58-12 on Sept. 5

HTRS Lady Titans place 2nd at own Invitational

HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Lady Titans took 2nd place in their host Tournament held on Saturday, September 13th after wins over Lewiston and Falls City Sacred Heart and a tough loss to Johnson-Brock in the championship game. HTRS vs. Lewiston The Lady Titans started the day by taking on in-county rival Lewiston in the first game of pool play

Irish break it open on Indians in 2nd quarter

Falls City Sacred Heart dominated Pawnee City 54-6 in Friday night football action. The Indians are 1-1. There were bright spots for Pawnee City. The Indians had three rushers who contributed to the ground game. Cory Kettelhake got 21 yards on 8 carries and scored the lone Pawnee City touchdown. Voy Pearson had 30 yards on 6 carries and JP Schiffbauer had 22 yards on 10 carries.

Pawnee City opens season with big road victory

STERLING - The Pawnee City Indians opened their 2014 season on the road Friday night, September 5th at Sterling and pulled out a big 30-22 victory. Pawnee City started the scoring with a 48 yard touchdown pass from Voy Pearson to JP Schiffbauer. The PAT was also good on a Pearson run and P.C. went up 8-0. Cory Kettelhake later scored on a 54 yard pass from Pearson and this time Schiffbauer ran in the PAT to make it a 16-0 Indian advantage.

HTRS Lady Titans go 3-2 for the week; place 3rd at WW Invite

TECUMSEH, WEEPING WATER - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Lady Titans went 3-2 in their five game span from Thursday, September 4th through Saturday, September 6th and came home with 3rd place from the
Weeping Water Invitational. HTRS vs. Falls City The Lady Titans took on the Falls City Lady Tigers in their first game of the JCC triangular on Thursday night and lost by set scores of 19- 25, 15-25

P.C.'s McCulloch wins first JCC Cross Country Invite

TECUMSEH - The Pawnee City Cross Country team ran through some rainy terrain at the 2014 Johnson County Central Invitational held last Friday, September 5th. After a brief weather delay, the Indian cross country runners made the most of their experience as new team member Jack McCulloch won the individual boys' 5K run ahead of 69 other runners with his time of 17:02.60. Jack transferred to Pawnee City from Utah this year

Lewiston Tigers get shut out by Griffins in season opener

LEWISTON - The Lewiston Tigers had their hands full in their season home opener on Friday night, August 29th against the visiting Diller/Odell Griffins. A seasoned Griffin football team took advantage of Lewiston's youth and inexperience from the opening snap and also used some timely penalties and turnovers to shut the Tigers out by a commanding 77-0 count.

Pawnee City track stars from the 2014 season recently got to replace the old records that were displayed on the wall in the high school cafeteria. Pictured with their new records are from left, Mariah Willey who broke the 100 M. Hurdles and Long Jump Records which were both previously held by Michelle Habegger.
