West dominates East in SECC Southeast Nebraska All-Star games

Southeast Community College hosted the Southeast Nebraska All-Star Classic over the weekend of Friday and Saturday, June 20th-21st. The action began on Friday night with the East vs. the West in the All-Star volleyball match. Lewiston Head Coach Cara De- Buhr was the Head Coach of the East All-Stars which started the game with several area athletes including Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer's Courtney Allen. Unfortunately the East squad lost the first set by a 16-25 count

Area Teams Participate in 8th Annual SENCA Benefit Golf Tournament

On Saturday, June 14th, Kirkman’s Lakeview Golf Course was busy with golfers representing various communities throughout southeast Nebraska and several neighboring states participating in the 8th Annual SENCA
Benefit Golf Tournament. Nebraska Senator Dan Watermeier from District 1 was one of the 76 golfers who participated.

Borcher set to play in Sertoma eight-man All-Star football game

HASTINGS - On Saturday, June 21, 2014 the 37th Annual Sertoma 8-Man All-Star game will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Hastings College. The game features 48 of the best 8-man athletes in the state of Nebraska. Scott Borcher of Pawnee City High School was selected to play in the All-Star Game. Each team was chosen by nominations submitted by Nebraska 8-Man football coaches.

P.C. Junior Legion team in full swing

PAWNEE CITY - The Pawnee City Junior Legion team is off to a 1-3 start for the season. They have lost to Tri-County 11-1, beat Adams 9-6, lost to Wilber 17-5 and lost 8-7 to Sabetha, Kan. Chase Hain and Connor Freeman give the team some solid pitching, coach Todd Dierberger said. Joel Rexroth is assistant coach.

SE NE All-Star Games set for June 20th-21st

Southeast Community College would like to announce the 26th annual Southeast Nebraska All-Star Basketball games on Saturday, June 21st and the 25th annual All-Star Volleyball game on Friday, June 20th.All games will be held at the Truman Centrer on the SCC-Beatrice Campus. The volleyball game on Friday night will feature two area athletes on the East All-Star squad; Pawnee City's Courtney Mathewson and Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer's

Edelman wins Pawnee Classic on 4th try

The third time wasn’t charm for Brandon Edelman. But the fourth time was. The Pawnee City Hospital radiologic technologist won the 30th running of the Pawnee Classic by Dr. Rick Jackson on his fourth try. He has been second the last three years. Originally from Bern, Kan, Edelman has worked at the hospital for six years. Dr. Jackson, the race organizer, was an infl uence on him to start running when he began working at the hospital. He now
runs 45-50 miles a week.

Pawnee City girls and boys finish 5th, 14th at State Meet

OMAHA - Track teams and fans were treated to two of the best days of weather and competition at the 2014 State Track Meet which was held at Omaha Burke Stadium over the weekend on Friday and Saturday, May 23rd and 24th. The Pawnee City track team fared particularly well in the twoday competition as they had three individual State gold medalists and one All-Class gold medalist when the final race was ran.

Pawnee City sends eleven to State Track Meet

The Pawnee City and Lewiston track teams enjoyed cloudy, but nice conditions at the Class D-1 District Track Meet which was held on Wednesday, May 14th. The Pawnee City girls made the most of the conditions as they captured the Class D-1 District with 155 total points and qualified eight participants for the 2014 State Track Meet
