HTRS holds off J-B in final seconds

HUMBOLDT - Fans didn't leave one second early when the HTRS Titans and the Johnson-Brock Eagles took the floor against each other on Friday, February 13th. J-B took the initial 4-0 lead of the game before Kaleb Knudson
hit a trey at the five minute mark to make it 3-4.

Multiple Titan wrestlers come up one win shy of State Tourney

MALCOLM - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer/Pawnee City Titan wrestling team had six grappler who made it to the final rounds of the Class C-1 District Wrestling Tournament over Friday and Saturday, February 13th-14th.
Unfortunately, none of them could win their final matches which would have earned them a trip to the State Tournament this upscoming week

Titan wrestlers take on tough teams at Raymond

The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer/Pawnee City Wrestling team traveled to the Raymond Central Invitational held on Saturday, January 31st where they placed 14th as a team in a tough group of competitors. All results are as follows. Team Standings: Nebraska City 186.0; Beatrice 175.5; Syracuse 155.0; Friend 127.0; Fort Calhoun 111.0; Raymond Central 104.5; Columbus Lakeview 100.0; Cozad 88.5; Yutan 86.5; Schuyler 77.0; Auburn 71.0; Norris 65.0; Waverly 62.0; HTRS/P.C. 47.0; Falls City19.0.

Pawnee City places 3rd at Pioneer

After all of the weather delays last week, the Pawnee City Indians brought home 3rd place from the 2015 Pioneer Conference Tournament which was played last week.
The Pawnee City Indians were the #4 seed heading into the 2015 Pioneer Conference Basketball Tournament last week and came home with the 3rd place plaque after a week of weather postponements. Pawnee City vs. Johnson-Brock Pawnee City played three games in three days as they traveled to Odell on Thursday, February 5th after the snow delays to take on the #5 seeded Johnson-Brock Eagles.

Pawnee City 65 Lewiston 42

Another in-county battle took place on Tuesday night, January 27th when the Lewiston Tigers hosted the Pawnee City Indians. Pawnee City jumped out to a 17-6 lead, however, and never looked back. By halftime they were up 25-17 and they outscored Lewiston 20-8 in the 3rd quarter and 20-17 in the final period for a 65-42 victory.

Habegger scores triple double in win over J-B

Pawnee City's Synthea Snyder (#15, right) steals a ball from a Johnson-Brock player in Friday night action. Snyder helped lead the team with 3 steals in a 39-29 victory.
Jenna Habegger recorded a triple double in the Pawnee City Lady Indians' 44-38 victory over the Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles on Friday night, January 30th. Habegger scored 12 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and had 11 blocks against the visiting Eagles.

Most of the time basketball games are decided in the 4th quarter, and the game between the Pawnee City Indians and the Johnson-Brock Eagles on Friday, January 30th was no different. Pawnee City got the jump on J-B in the first quarter with buckets by Connor Freeman and Voy Pearson and a trey from the corner from Tyler Gyhra at the 3:15 mark to go up 8-2.

LHS succumbs to NCL press

The Lewiston Lady Tigers had their hands full with Nebraska City Lourdes' full court pressure on Friday, January 23rd. NCL used that pressure to jump out to a 13-5 lead by the end of the 1st quarter and led 17-5 in the 2nd period before Megan Wehrbein and Kaitlin Arena knocked down some charity tosses. LHS trailed 10-32 at the half.

Titan wrestlers place 7th among 15 teams at Louisville

The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Titans faced another stellar group of grapplers at the Louisville Wrestling Invitational held on Saturday, January 24th. HTRS/P.C. claimed 7th place with 91.5 points out of the fifteen teams which were in competition. HTRS/P.C.'s Jacob Wilhelm and Ben Railsback placed 3rd place in their respective divisions at 120 lbs. and 160 lbs. Michael Otto placed 4th at 126 and Eli Cline placed 4th at 182 lbs.

Tigers slow game down against NCL

Lewiston Head Coach Ryan Thomas had a great game plan heading into the Tigers' game against a Nebraska City Lourdes lineup that averages about 6'3" as their starting height. The Tigers hosted Lourdes Central Catholic on Friday night, January 23rd and used a patient offense when they had the ball to slow the game down and get good shots against the much taller Knights.
