HTRS Titans hang tough in two-day road trip

FALLS CITY, JOHNSON - The  Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Titans had a busy two day road trip as they traveled to both Falls City and Johnson-Brock in back to back nights last week. HTRS vs. Falls City The Titans opened their twogame stretch at the Falls City Tigers on Thursday, February 13th.

Lady Titans struggle in back to back games

FALLS CITY, JOHNSON - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer Lady Titans had the same tough road trips as the boys as they took on the Falls City Lady Tigers and the Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles in back to back nights on Thursday and Friday, February 13th and 14th and came home with losses.

HTRS/P.C. wrestling team will send two grapplers to State Tournament

MALCOLM - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer/Pawnee City wrestling team qualified two grapplers for the State Wrestling Tournament this week. The Titans traveled to Malcolm for the Class C-1 Districts on Friday and Saturday, February 14th and 15th and had two team members earn the trip to State by placing in the top four of their weight divisions. HTRS/P.C.'s Ben Railsback placed 3rd in the 160 lb. division and teammate Jacob Wilhelm
placed 4th in the 106 lb. division at the District Meet

LHS Tigers claim 3rd place in Conference

JOHNSON, FALLS CITY - The Lewiston Tigers may have entered the 2014 Pioneer Conference Basketball Tournament as the #4 seed, but they came away with the 3rd place plaque after three straight games over the weekend. The weather conditions postponed all boys' play until Thursday night, February 6th when the Tigers defeated Pawnee City by a 70-51 count at the Johnson-Brock site.

Lewiston, Pawnee City face off in Pioneer first round

JOHNSON - The inclement weather temporarily postponed the third meeting between the Lewiston Tigers and the Pawnee City Indians at the Pioneer Conference Tournament last week. The Pawnee City Indians had claimed victory in the two teams' previous meetings at the T.R. Holiday Tournament and in regular season play. The Lewiston Tigers were the #4 seed and the Pawnee City Indians were the #5 seed in the first round of the Pioneer Tournament which was moved to Thursday, February 6th.

HTRS/P.C. wrestlers host N.C. on Senior Night

HUMBOLDT - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer/Pawnee City Titan wrestlers hosted a dual against Nebraska City on Thursday, February 6th. The competition was held on Parent's Night for all wrestlers and Senior Night for wrestler Anthony Jimenez. The Titans lost the team event by a 13-48 score to the visiting Pioneers but had some bright spots of the night during the dual.

Lewiston surges past Sterling at home, 72-52

LEWISTON - Big shots in big moments of the game was what sparked the Lewiston Tigers in their 72-52 victory over the Sterling Jets in a key match up on Friday night, January 31st. After losses earlier in the week, both teams were striving for a victory to jump-start them for this week's Pioneer Conference Tournament.

First half shooting woes hamper LHS Lady Tigers

LEWISTON - A dismal first half of shooting combined with a tenacious defense by the Sterling Lady Jets led to the Lewiston Lady Tigers' downfall on Friday night, January 31st. Sterling pressured the Lady Tigers into a total over thirty turnovers and shut them out of the 1st quarter of play by a 26-0 count.

Pawnee City Indians top Johnson-Brock 54-37

JOHNSON - The Pawnee City Indians held Johnson-Brock to single digit scoring in two of the four quarters they played on Friday, January 31st as the Indians came home with a 54-37 victory. P.C. led 14-13 after the first quarter and 25-21 at the half and outscored their hosts 16-6 in the 3rd quarter and 13-10 in the final quarter.

Johnson County teacher arrested for sexual assault

An investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol, in conjunct i o n w i t h t h e J o h n - son County S h e r i f f ’ s Office and the Johnson County Attorney has led to the arrest of a teacher at J o h n s o n County Cent r a l ( J C C )
High School. On Monday, January 27, information was provided to investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office regarding allegations of a sexual relationship between a teacher and a male
student at the school.
