Perfect track conditions for running of FCSH Irish Invite

The track conditions for the running of the 2014 Falls City Sacred Heart Irish Invitational on Tuesday, April 22nd were absolutely perfect which set up for a record-breaking day for several athletes. With plenty of sunshine and
hardly no wind, the Pawnee City and Lewiston tracksters took advantage of the perfect conditions and a couple of Pawnee City athletes even set new meet records at the meet.

SENCA hosts Track and Field Day

SENCA Head Start hosted the 6th annual “Track and Field” day on Friday, April 11th at the Auburn High School track. The Olympic style event was held in conjunction with the nationally celebrated “Week of the Young Child”. A total of 200 preschool students accompanied by 50 teachers and school staff attended the event representing the following schools: SENCA Head Start in Auburn, Falls City, Table Rock, Nebraska City Full Day and Nebraska City Part Day; SENCA collaboration sites of HTRS in Humboldt and Little Learners in Auburn; along with children from Johnson Brock, Tiny Tots, and Trinity Lutheran.

HTRS hosts annual Golf Invitational; Sommerhalder hits hole-in-one

KIRKMAN'S - HUMBOLDT - Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer hosted their annual Golf Invitational on Tuesday, April 15th at the Kirkman's Lakeview Golf Course. There were some close scores turned in and even an "ace" by one of our area golfers during the eighteen hole competition. Lewiston senior Ryan Sommerhalder hit a hole-in-one on the #7 green on his first round of the day.

P.C. girls cross border for another victory

SENECA, KS. - The Pawnee City Lady Indians won yet another track meet in Kansas last week as they won the Nemaha Valley Invitational on Tuesday, April 15th. Pawnee City racked up 122 total points, a full twenty points ahead of 2nd place Nemaha Valley with 102. The boys also made a great showing with a 3rd place finish with 93 points behind Centralia at 132 and Valley Heights at 103.

Sejkora reaches NAIA National Championship with Midland

FREMONT - The Midland University Men’s basketball team wrapped up their most successful season in program history, finishing as the NAIA Div. II National runner-up, and securing a number two national ranking. The Warriors set a new school record for wins, going 30-6 on the year and reaching the NAIA National Championship game before being defeated by Indiana Wesleyan 78-68. Among those on the team was Hadley Sejkora of Burchard, Nebraska.

Grizzle signs with Morningside to play basketball

PAWNEE CITY - Chase Grizzle, a 6-2 guard from Pawnee City, will enroll at Morningside College this fall and compete for the Mustangs’ men’s basketball team announced Morningside men’s basketball head coach Jim Sykes recently. Grizzle is a senior at Pawnee City High School, where twice he earned First-team All-Pioneer Conference honors, scored 751 points and made 120 of 293 3- point field goal attempts for 41.0 percent during his prep career.

HTRS, Lewiston make tracks at T-bird Invite

TECUMSEH - The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer and the Lewiston track teams participated in the Johnson County Central Thunderbird Invite held on Tuesday, April 8th. Temperatures were a little breezy and cool for the day, but several HTRS competitors made the most of it.

Lady Indians win Turkey Creek Relays

The Pawnee City track teams traveled to Friend on Tuesday, April 1st for the 2014 Turkey Creek Relays. The Pawnee City girls won their division with 99 total team points amongst nine other teams competing. The Pawnee City boys also made a good showing with a 3rd place finish and 65 total points

Pawnee City track teams place 1st, 2nd at 2014 Mudecas Meet

The Pawnee City girls and boys finished 1st and 2nd in the Class A Division of the Mudecas Track Meet held on Saturday, April 5th. The Pawnee City girls won their division with a team total of 179.333 while the boys finished
2nd in Class A with 111 total points. The Humboldt Table Rock Steinauer boys and girls' track teams both finished 6th with the boys scoring 36 points and the girls scoring 19 points

HTRS Track

Season Outlook: “Our boys team will be led by our one returning state medalist in Ben Railsback who medaled at State in the Pole Vault and competed in the High Jump. I think Will Drake should be solid in the short sprints along with Nolan Schafer in the field events and both will help with our relays. We will have a good group of middle distance boys led by Noah Sherman, Kaleb Knudson and Devon Hunzeker.
