Lewiston struggles against Sterling

STERLING - The Lewiston Tigers struggled offensively against the Sterling Jets on Friday night, October 12th in cool, damp and foggy conditions.

The Tigers had troubles getting anything going in the first half while Sterling came out right away and converted a 4th down on their opening drive en route to a 1 yard touchdown run at the 6:22 mark. Levi Meybrunn blocked the PAT kick, however to keep it a 0-6 game.

Lewiston's first possession was marred by an interception by quarterback Treyton Hippen and Sterling took over at their own 10 yard line.

Luckily, the Tigers made a stop and forced them to punt it back. LHS faced a 3rd and 16 when Hippen completed a pass to Daniel Gonzalez who made a great catch at midfield.

From there, LHS went backwards with a fumbled pitch and then a sack and they were forced to punt to open the 2nd quarter of play.

P.C. defense can't corral Mustangs

PAWNEE CITY - The Pawnee City Indians hosted the Meridian Mustangs on a cool and damp night for Homecoming on Friday, September 28th. While the Indians had spurts of good offense, they trailed 8-20 after the first period and 20-50 at the halftime break. They were outscored 14-6 in the second half as they lost by a 26-64 score. "Overall, it was a disappointing night for Homecoming," said Head Coach Scott Brumbaugh. "The offense moved the ball and scored, but didn't complete a couple of important drives. The offense did a pretyy good job, however the defense just couldn't come up with a stop. Giving up big plays on 3rd down was our downfall. I thought TJ Mawhiney had a nice night throwing the ball again plus Mason Lierz had a nice night of running the ball to help take some of the pressure off of the passing game."
