On May 24, 2022, law enforcement officers from across Nebraska were honored at the MADD Hero Awards in Lincoln. One of those honorees was Richardson County Deputy Joshua Townsend. He received an award for adult DUI enforcement. In 2021, Deputy Townsend took over 40 impaired drivers off the roads in Richardson County from drug and alcohol related impairment.
