Two people escaped from an early morning fire Monday in Pawnee City. The fire occurred at a residence across the street from the NAPA store. Sheldon Patterson and his foster son, Daniel Zodl, were sleeping at the time. Patterson got up to go to the bathroom and flames shot out when he opened his bedroom door.
