Pawnee City City Council wants the library to cut 21 percent from its budget for the next fiscal year. That was the focus of an hour-long discussion between some 40 members of the public and Council at Monday night’s meeting. The meeting was held in the Union Bank basement to accommodate the expected large crowd due to the protests over the proposed cuts.
