Jeffery Day, who was born in Humboldt and now lives in Fort Wort, Texas was the recent recipient of a special Quilt of Valor made for him by his aunt, Verna Kalina of Pawnee City He was in the Army from 1986 to 1994 and the day he left the military he had attained the rank of Special C4. He served in Desert Storm and was in charge of a M109 Howitzer.
