January 20, 2025, was a momentous day for America. The theme of the 60th Presidential Inauguration was “Our Enduring Democracy.” And this Inauguration was a reminder that because of our American Constitution, our nation will surely endure.
The Pawnee City Chamber of Commerce joined Southeast NE Feeds for their grand opening yesterday. As part of ceremonies, the Chamber sponsored a ribbon cutting and awarded Southeast NE Feeds first-year membership in the Chamber and a certificate of new business. Summer Food Service Program Grant Released

Children need good food all year long, even when they are not in school. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides healthy meals to children, ages one to 18, free of charge.

This year marked the 9th year Pawnee City Public Library held their “Reading is a Gift” program. Parents with children in grades Pre-K and up, who check out books at the library, are encouraged to sign-up.

2024 Fall Dean’s List SCC

Southeast Community College released the names of 3,076 students who earned a spot on the Dean’s List and 918 degrees conferred for the 2024 Fall Semester which ended on Dec. 13, 2024.A student must complete at least six semester credit hours in the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.

The following are ongoing cases in the Pawnee County District Court. The Pawnee Republican will report on them as they develop. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Pawnee County District Court was held January 21 in the Pawnee County Courthouse.

Local Legend Returns to Hometown of Pawnee City!

Dan Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy, is returning to his hometown of Pawnee City to give back to the town that made him who he is. Whitney will perform a comedy show in the Pawnee City High School gym on February 14 as part of his Nebraska Road Trip tour.
