Statewide temporary open fire ban lifted

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has lifted the temporary statewide open fire ban at state park and wildlife management areas.The decision follows recent rain across portions of the state, where additional precipitation is anticipated this weekend.

It hit in October, over a century ago. 1918. Pawnee County knew it was coming. The first wave of the virus had gone around the world that summer.It was often called the Spanish flu because Spain was the first country without war-time censorship so the first reports came from there.

Creative District Discussed at Council Meeting

The Pawnee City City Council met Monday, October 28. The meeting began with a lease agreement with Todd Albers. The city uses the groundwater on a section of land but it otherwise goes unused, so they lease the land to Albers to graze his cattle.The city leases the land to Albers for $93.
