Pawnee City Public School Holds Pep Rally Before Homecoming Football Game

Pawnee City Public School held a pep rally on the courthouse lawn ahead of the homecoming football game on Friday, October 4. The rally included games played by both the players and coaches for the football team, volleyball team, and cross country team.

Livery Stable Grand Opening hosted by Johnson County Museum

The Johnson County Historical Society proudly hosted a grand opening of its Livery Stable with a Saturday evening gala on September 28.“The museum had made several attempts to acquire the 1907 livery stable. Finally in April 2022 it succeeded. The purchase included an “as is” clause.

Fall Invading Insects

Fall is my favorite season of the year. The weather is much more enjoyable, the trees turn fantastic colors, and football begins again. With all the fun of fall, however, comes the not so enjoyable entry of insects into our homes.

Horse Watering Trough

Horse watering trough was on the courthouse lawn. In November of 1918 someone threw something into it and blew a hole in the side. I had an iron patch.
