First Impactful Winter Storm to Effect Pawnee County

We all knew winter was coming. It was a matter of when we were pondering. Thursday will be the scene of the first impactful snowstorm of the 2022-2023 season. The amount of snow will be significant but isn’t the big worry. Wind gusts of 45-50 mph will put windchills between -30 and -45 degrees.

Last Friday, I attended the change of command ceremony at U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) headquarters at Offutt Air Force Base. There, Admiral Charles “Chas” Richard transferred command to U.S. Air Force General Anthony J. Cotton.

Most Women Ever Set to Serve in Nebraska Legislature

There will be 18 women sworn in as state senators in January, the most ever in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature. Half declare as Republicans and half as Democrats in the officially nonpartisan body.
