The city of Pawnee City received two bids for their city pool resurfacing project and one bid for their tranquility park project. Both projects are Rural Community Recovery Program (RCRP) grant projects.At the regular city council meeting on Monday, March 9, the council reviewed these bids.

Pawnee County Sheriff Braden Lang met with the Pawnee City city council on Monday, March 9 to give them his regular report.Sheriff Lang said he had done a welfare check on the owner of a property on the nuisance property list.

NRD Adding Floting Kayak Docks at Local Lakes

“Kayaking is popular now, so we thought we’d try these out,” said Aaron Stalder of the Nemaha Natural Resources District. They have built three floating kayak docks at their Tecumseh office. The first one was an experiment.

The pediment above the colossal Corinthian columns of the north portico. “Dentils” (small repeating blocks for ornamentation) run above and below it, “Triglyphs” (the four small blocks with grooves) anchor the triangular gable, and within the triangle is a terra cotta sculpture with interesting figures.
How our Courthouse Came to Be
Don’t You Just Love A Good Story?
After about a decade of controversy, Pawnee County had a new courthouse. Begun in the Spring of 1911, and finished in 1912, it cost $85,000. The architect was W. F. Gernandt and Company of Fairbury, Nebraska, who designed ours and 9 other Nebraska courthouses between 1910 and 1923.
