Each year, the Pawnee County Arts Council sponsors an ice cream social coupled with a concert by the Southeast Nebraska Community Band, which is a component of the Arts Council. The event is always on the lawn of the county courthouse.

On Monday night the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office introduced the council to Elaric. The newest member of the Sheriff’s department. Deputy Michael Cincerone went to Pennsylvania to pickup Elaric. Elaric will be starting his drug detection training in July.

On Saturday, June 25, a crowd gathered to dedicate the new plaza at the Table Rock bandstand, which includes seating and a dance/performance area. The plaza fronts the stage, which was built as a dance platform in 1948. The bandstand itself was built in 1919 to replace an earlier wooden bandstand.
