LINCOLN, Neb. June 21, 2022 - For the week ending June 19, 2022, there were 5.8 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 14% very short, 30% short, 54% adequate, and 2% surplus.

TABLE ROCK, HASTINGS - “Somebody tackle #22!” That was just one of the comments jokingly made over the weekend while referring to 2022 Nebraska 8-Man Football Hall of Fame inductee Jim Gilbert of Table Rock.

I occasionally pick up a history book and flip through the pages. The other day I picked up an 800- page tome that was Volume 2 of the three-volume Illustrated History of Nebraska. It was written by J. Sterling Morton in 1906. I ran across an autobiographical entry by a Dr. George B. Miller.

The Pawnee County Arts Council will bring back its annual Ice Cream Social and Band Concert on Sunday, June 26. Arts Council Board Members will begin serving ice cream and cakes at 7:00 pm on the Court House lawn in Pawnee City.

It will be soooo hot, but the Table Rock Historical Society is going forward with its annual open house. It will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. This year, the Farm Machinery Quonset Museum is featured. The Quonset is behind the brick Pioneer Museum.
