For decades, The Little Brown Jug has been a staple of Pawnee City’s four-way highway stop. New owners, Carla and Scott Hanna are hoping to use the popularity of The Little Brown Jug to celebrate a young farmer lost too soon and raise funds for a great cause.

2012-10 Years Ago Joel J. Watermeier, 43, of Lincoln was arrested in Pawnee City about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday by a Nebraska State Patrol SWAT team. He was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver, according to Sgt. Bryan Jones of the patrol.

Track teams open 2022 at Pioneer Indoor

CRETE - All three area track teams opened their 2022 season by competing at the Pioneer Conference Indoor Meet at Doane University on Wednesday, March 23rd. The Tri-County girls and Falls City Sacred Heart boys won the team divisions with 90 and 115 points, respectively.
