The COVID-19 pandemic imposed unfathomable challenges for schools. However,there has been a financial windfall from the pandemic for schools in the form of three rounds of federal stimulus funding to schools.
Farmers got a present from First Bank of Nebraska in Burchard Thursday afternoon. They received a meal to go with other goodies as a way of saying thanks for all their efforts during harvest. Halloween Fun at th ZCBJ Hall

An early Halloween party was held at the ZCBJ Hall near DuBois. Hosted by Roy’s Ag. Repair, Elaine’s Hair Studio and ZCBJ Hall. New this year was a trip through the haunted basement, a spooky trail and a scary ride created by Roy Mullin.

Fire Hall gets boost from leftover ReUse monies

The fire hall project will get an additional $188,325 and change thanks to action at the Pawnee City City Council meeting Monday. That money is coming from the remaining funds in the ReUse program, also called the Revolving Loan Fund.

Fire Hall may be done before Christmas

Pawnee City is on track to get a big Christmas present this year. The new fire hall is tentatively scheduled to be done by Dec. 22. “We’re pretty close to being on schedule now,” said AHRS project manager Alan Schmitz Thursday. Keep in mind Dec. 22 is a tentative date.
