Pawnee City Christmas Mitten and Angel Trees a Success

Pawnee City Deputy Clerk Kellie Wiers reported an excellent turnout for both the Mitten Tree and Angel Tree sponsored by the city this Christmas. At the Pawnee City city council meeting on December 22, Deputy Clerk Wiers said 50 pairs of mittens, gloves and hats had been donated to SENCA Headstart.

A 2-year old Angus bull valued at $4,000 was shot and killed and its testicles removed near Burchard recently. The owner, John Sisco, told the Sheriff’s Department the incident happened between Dec. 25 and Dec. 31. The bull was shot about a block and half from his residence.

The long-awaited historical marker for Table Rock arrived this month. It had been ordered and paid for by the Table Rock Historical Society over a year ago.The process of getting a marker has been a long journey. Even being granted the right to have a marker had not been a sure thing.
