It suddenly occurred to me that I am a better speaker than a listener. Often, I find myself interrupting others because I am afraid of losing my train of thought while they are still speaking. My wife reminds me of this as I try to excuse my bad habit by saying I am a little hard of hearing.

Saturday Night at the Haunted Hall

It’s a tradition of many years! Halloween at the DuBois ZCBJ lodge hall. As always, this year’s event was hosted by Roy Mullin, Elaine’s Hair Studio, Carol Mullins, the Pawnee City Historical Society, and ZCBJ Lodge #101. It was an all out evening for area kids.

Suzanne Borcher has has assumed overseeing the Pawnee City Vision 2030 project. These two houses are the only ones being built at the moment and are scheduled to be completed by the end of November. They are located near the Pawnee City Assisted Living facility.

Future Plans for the Pawnee Republican

The Pawnee Republican, the oldest continuously operating weekly newspaper in Nebraska, has been a cornerstone of Pawnee County for over 157 years. However, the paper now faces the threat of closure, reflecting a broader trend of struggling community newspapers across the state.

Harvest season is upon Pawnee County and it is shaping up to be a good one this year.
