Section 86 of Table Rock’s Ordinances of 1911 set out the rules for operating a car, automobile, or other motor vehicle, and Section 87 set out the punishment, a fine of at least $1 and not more than $50.
Section 86 applied to you if you drove, controlled, or were in charge of the vehicle. Apparently, back seat drivers had legal responsibilities, too.
