Shirley Ann Johnson, 86, of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away on April 16, 2026 at the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. Born on October 4, 1939, Shirley was a loving, resilient, and compassionate woman who devoted her life to her family and others. Her strength and resilience were the bedrock of her family. She was a loving but tough woman who was always there for those in need. Shirley married Jack R. Johnson on July 7, 1957, and their partnership was a testament to their mutual love and respect. She was an active member in her community, working at Little Brown Jug and Pete’s Pharmacy in Pawnee City. Shirley enjoyed riding horses and had a fond affection for cats.
Shirley is survived by her son, Dan Johnson (Jennie Zvolanek); grandsons, Jared (Kyleigh) Johnson and Dalton Johnson (Avele Simons); brother- in-law, Jim (Nicki) Johnson; sister-in-law, Kay Traut; numerous nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Katherine (Bauer)Traut; daughter, Debby Reynolds; daughter-inlaw, Amanda Johnson; sister, Darlene Foster; brother, Duane “Sonny” Traut.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Pawnee City Cemetery. We invite you to leave memories and upload photos of Shirley to her memorial page at www.ghchapel. com.
