John Philip Falter was from Falls City and became a famous painter and illustrator.
He was born in 1910 and died in 1982. He grew up in Falls City and much of his early work was a recollection of the simple time of boyhood and the laid-back lifestyle of a small town. One of his illustrations, Christmas in Falls City, made the cover of the Saturday Evening Post.
