Betty J. Peck, 76, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 after a lengthy battle with dementia. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Betty was born the daughter of Robert J. and Sarah M. (Weltmer) Schilling, Sr. on July 8, 1945 in Sabetha, Kansas. She graduated from Pawnee City High School in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She attended the University of Kansas for one year before transferring to Peru State where she met Robert Peck. They were married July 25, 1965 in Pawnee City and enjoyed 56 years together. Robert’s work kept them moving across the Midwest. They have called Sioux City home since 2004.
Betty was known to be a great golfer and a gifted pianist and singer. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, decorating her home, and loving her dogs. She also enjoyed cooking and going shopping with her daughter.
She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and First United Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City where she was active in her younger years.
Betty is survived by her husband, Robert Peck of Sioux City; daughter, Patricia Peck of Sioux City; and grandson, J.J. Peck of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bobby, Mary Ann, and Janie; and nephew, Roger.
