Our sweet wife, mother, and grandmother, Diane Sue (Kinghorn) Bausch, entered her heavenly home on October 2, 2020. Diane was born on July 9, 1946 to Wilbur and Marjorie (Bouwens) Kinghorn at the Auburn Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska.

She was baptized August 21, 1946 and confirmed on Palm Sunday 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Auburn. Diane attended Auburn Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1964. After high school Diane attended Peru State College and received her teaching degree in the spring of 1968.

That fall she began teaching Kindergarten in Holmesville, Nebraska. While she attended college, Diane met Don Bausch. They were united in marriage in a secretive ceremony at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Falls City, Nebraska on September 3, 1971. After marrying Don, Diane joined Salem United Church of Christ near Steinauer, Nebraska. She was an active member, serving on the Church Council and Woman’s Fellowship. Also, she taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years.

Diane continued teaching at Holmesville until Amy was born in 1974. After Amy was born Diane helped on the farm and was a devoted mother. In 1977 a son, Clark, was born. Following her children starting school Diane continued her love for teaching at Lewiston School, which led her to opening a preschool at Salem UCC and teaching story hour in Burchard.

Diane was a gentle loving soul with a great sense of humor at home. She had many active interests which included flowers, birds, reading, crafting, and a strong liking for Hershey’s chocolate. Her greatest passion, however, was sewing. This was displayed through the numerous outfits her children wore. In her later yearsshe discovered her joy of quilting and was very proud of her first quilt. She also enjoyed being a Charter Member of the Gingham Gals Extension Club.
