Jeane Marie (Rears) Kuhlman

Jeane Marie (Rears) Kuhlmann, daughter of Amel F. and Ruby L. (Caskey) Rears was born at home near Stella, Nebraska on March 14, 1922. She attended North Star rural school District 101 and lived with her parents until she began teaching in rural schools in Southeast Nebraska.

Celebrations of Joel’s life will be held in Pawnee City on June 30, 2023 at the Schilling Bridge Winery from 3pm to 7pm with a short presentation at 3:15pm and in Fremont on July 1, 2023 at the Fremont Golf Club from 2pm to 5pm with a short presentation at 3pm.

Hastings resident Ruth Bramman, 80, went to be with her heavenly Father on June 6, 2023, in Elkhorn, Nebraska. A celebration of life will be at 2nd Presbyterian church in Hastings, NE on July 15th at 10am.

Evelyn Josephine Pettinger 104, of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Pawnee City Assisted Living. She was born on January 30, 1919 to Gustav and Josephine (Uhlir) Mach in DuBois, Nebraska.

George W. Leech

George W. Leech, age 95, of Maury County and formerly of Dickson County, Tennessee, passed away on March 26, 2023. George was born in Charlotte, TN on June 22, 1927 to the late Sam Pat Leech and Dolly Ashworth Leech. He has outlived all but one of his seven siblings.

Laurence “Larry” Charles James, 77, of rural Du Bois, Nebraska was born on March 18, 1946, in Holdrege, Nebraska to Ardelle Francis and Charlotte (Hansen) James. Larry attended school in Dawson and graduated from Dawson- Verdon High School with the class of 1965.

William Walter Bohling

William Walter Bohling was born August 2, 1952 to Walter and Rosa Pearl (Moody) Bohling in Auburn, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm southwest of Auburn. Bill was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul’s (Hickory Grove) Lutheran Church, rural Auburn, Nebraska.

Memorial Day Services

Memorial Day Services at the Czech National Cemetary of Southwest Humboldt will be held Sunday, May 28th at 3:30p.m.. Joe Stehlik will be the featured speaker. There will be a program of Czexh Music.
