Joseph “Joe” Frederick Cook, 92, of rural Humboldt was born on September 24, 1929, in Dow City, Iowa to William Jefferson and Bernice (Thompson) Cook. He and his younger sister, Betty, lived on a farm near Dow City where they attended rural and city grade schools.

John Allen Eis

John Allen Eis, 78, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on March 20, 1943 in Pawnee City, Nebraska to John William and Lucille Leota (Farwell) Eis. He grew up on the family farm and attended Athens Country School District #67 in Richardson County through the 8th grade.

Donna J. Svanda

Donna J. Svanda passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born on April 17, 1942 to Joseph and Blanche (Kunc) Svanda of Virginia, Nebraska at the old Pawnee Hospital Annex. Donna was the eldest of four children; Kermit, Janet and Lois.

Shirley Argo went to be with her Lord on December 15, 2021, at Pawnee City, NE. Visitation was from Noon until 7 p.m. Friday, December 17 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 18 at the Berean Church in Marysville. Rev. Joel Barber officiated.

Steven William “Steve” Bailey, 74 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege. Steve was born on April 4, 1947, in McCook, Nebraska, the second of five children, born to Floyd William and Helen Blanche (Stewart) Bailey.

Henry “Hank” de Koning, 100, of Burchard, Nebraska passed away in his home on November. 28,2021. He was born on October 23, 1921 to Dick and Stella (Loverink) de Koning near Gillette, Wyoming. When Hank was 15 months old his family moved to a farm south of Pawnee City, Nebraska.

Donald Blessen, 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his home in Columbus. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 10:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor 011ie Fullmer officiating.
