The COVID-19 virus and its effect on schools

In the early stages of the pandemic, the COVID virus didn’t appear to be posing much of a risk to many rural regions of Nebraska. When the virus peaked in late April, many counties, like Pawnee, still had no reported cases. As the virus was peaking, the epicenters of spread were largely Grand Island, Lincoln, Omaha-Metro, and South Sioux City. Pawnee County didn’t see its first positive case…
