Reining horse trainer Sherman Tegtmeier got his start in the Flying Tigers 4-H club here in Pawnee County,
His family was a horse loving family and his dad started taking him to Reining Horse competitions in the region. They developed that as a family business near Burchard, breaking and training horses for competition. They had up to 30 horses at time they were working with.
