The Uplands of Sheridan Township were the star of the 2026 Volksmarch held by the Rock Country School Foundation last weekend. They form the rim of the Nemaha River Valley. Here, Howard Blecha hikes the last long downhill slope.
By 9 a.m., the thermometer already crowded against 90 but nevertheless a good number appeared for the Volksmarch held by the Rock Country School Foundation. The Foundation takes care of the rock school 5 miles southeast of Table Rock, also known as the Pleasant Valley Country School.
