May 14, 1945, I was shipfitter 2nd Class aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise CV-6. We were in the waters close to Japan. The Japanese planes were on our radar and we knew they would be attacking our fleet. Our planes would be bombing the Kyushu airfields.
