The One-Legged Woman Along in the summer of ’76 one day when the south-bound freight with Conductor Filson pulled in, they brought the caboose down to the station and unloaded a one-legged woman on crutches, and it was quite a job. The platform was the same height as the caboose platform and it was some straddle even for an active man.
