Theileria Detected in Nebraska Cattle

LINCOLN, Neb. — Producers are urged to be vigilant after Theileria- a tick-borne parasite that affects cattle – was detected in several Nebraska counties. The Asian Longhorned Tick (ALHT) is the primary carrier responsible for spreading the parasite.

First Hearing in Suit Against Pawnee County

The first hearing in the lawsuit against Pawnee County was held at the Nemaha County courthouse on May 27. It was heard by Judge Julie Smith. Pawnee County Sheriff Braden Lang filed a lawsuit against the county on April 22 of this year.

Pawnee City Fire Chief Dave Glynn said it was mostly smoke, not really a fire at the Pawnee Village Monday morning. The call came in before 6 a.m. It was apartment 114 where a couple lived. Both Tex Finn and his wife, Vivian, got out safely.
