Dear Diary, Tucker here. This morning, I was with my family in southern Missouri and tonight I am crashing on the sofa at a strange place. I’ve never seen these people before in my life!I know that all but one are dogs, but really? Why are there so many? Is this a halfway house for delinquents?

Library Hosts Free Clothing Giveaway and Henna Artist

The Pawnee City Public Library has begun hosting a free clothing giveaway in the main part of the building. Library Director Lola Seitz said anyone is welcome to browse through the donated items and take them home at no cost. People are also encouraged to donate unwanted clothing.

Crappie Time in Southeast Nebraska

By the time spring finally settles into southeast Nebraska, a man can feel it in his bones. The wind lays down just enough, the redbuds start showing off, and somewhere along the banks of Iron Horse Lake, a crappie fisherman is easing up to a brush pile with high hopes and a light jig.

During the time reserved for public comment at the Pawnee County Board of Commissioners regular meeting on Tuesday, March 17, Delton Rhodes approached the board.Rhodes said he was raised in Pawnee County and returned to the county with his wife and children to raise his family.

County Commissioners Make Appointments

The Pawnee County Board of Commissioners voted on several appointments during their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 17.The first was to appoint Josie Friedly to represent Pawnee County on the committee to update Southeast Nebraska Development District (SENDD) comp plan.

Student of the Week

Av a M e int s is a Sophomore at Pawnee City School. She is involved in Yearbook and shows great enthusiasm and initiative. Ava has also begun writing a biweekly youth focused column called “Youth Perspective” for the Pawnee Republican.
