David William Hoffman 88 of Ralston, Nebraska passed away on December 3, 2025 at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on March 20, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to Vernon and Erna (Rinne) Hoffman.
He attended grade school in Steinauer, Nebraska and graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1954. He served in the Army from 1956-1957, than graduated from Peru State College with a Bachelor of Arts in education. Then he received his Masters Degree in Special Education from University of Nebraska in Omaha. He spent his early years in education teaching and coaching football, basketball and track. He then taught. In Omaha Public Schools before completing his teaching career in Council Bluffs Public Schools.
He married Nancy Werner in Council Bluffs, Iowa and to this union one daughter was born Casey.
Member of United Church of Christ in Steinauer, Nebraska.
David loved all animals especially dogs and cats. He liked going to races at Ak-sar Ben in Omaha. He loved Nebraska football, pheasant and Quail hunting. He liked music and Barbershop Quartet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Erna Hoffman, brother Jerry and numerous and beloved dogs and cats.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Casey Hoffman, brother, Steve Hoffman of Overland, KS, sister, Karen of Amarillo, TX, sister-inlaw, Carol Hoffman of Tuscaloosa, AL, nieces and nephews, John, Cara, Anne, Lisa, Emily and Alex, numerous cousins, also survived by Pickles, Barclay, Sassy and Sawyer his adored pets.
