It is with profound sorrow that the family of Mark Kent Flesner announce his passing in Lincoln, NE on December 15, 2025 at the age of 69. Born on December 9, 1956, in Beatrice, NE, Mark spent all his life in the Virginia, Nebraska area, where he became a pillar of the community. A proud graduate of Lewiston High School in 1975, Mark found his lifelong passion in agriculture, working as a dedicated farmer, and worked at Accuma in Beatrice for many years until his retirement in 2022. He was a humble servant of the land and his cattle, fueled by a deep love for his community.
Mark Flesner, a man of quiet strength and tenacity, cherished his family above all else. He married the love of his life, Kim Malone, on November 4, 1978, at the American Lutheran Church in Filley. Their union was blessed with two children, Korey and Kelly, who were the light of Mark’s life. He was a member of the Beatrice Eagles Club and enjoyed playing in shuffleboard leagues. In his leisure, Mark was an enthusiastic supporter of the Huskers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Boston Celtics, and the Boston Bruins. He also took great joy December 9, 1956 ~ December 15, 2025
in attending his children’s activities, often coaching his children’s sports teams. What he cherished most was being a grandpa. Few things brought him more joy than sitting in the stands or on the sidelines, faithfully attending his grandchildren’s events and cheering them on with pride.
Mark was especially known for his sense of humor and his laughter. He found happiness in the simple things: a good card game, watching all Husker sports (win or lose), and spending time on the farm, where he felt most at home.
Mark’s legacy of love and dedication will be cherished by his wife, Kim Flesner; his son, Korey (Morgan) Flesner of Firth: his daughter, Kelly Flesner of Lincoln; his beloved grandchildren Neeley, Hannah and Brandt Flesner; his brother, Norman (Sandra) Flesner of Virginia; and his sister, Pamela (Edward) Schroeder of Blair, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie (Wehmer)and Calvin Flesner.
