Our beloved mother, Sarah (Sally) Elizabeth Therese Steinauer, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on October 7, 1936. She peacefully passed away on April 25, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family.
Sally was a woman of quiet strength, profound faith, and boundless love. Her presence was a guiding light that profoundly impacted the lives of all who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to her family will forever resonate in our hearts.
Sally is now reunited in eternal peace with her father, Norbert A. Steinauer; her mother, Mary S. Hochreiter Steinauer; her brother, Nicholas A. Steinauer; her sister, Katherine A. Steinauer Wehrbein; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Chapman.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Steinauer, and sister, M. Susan Steinauer Miles. Sally has five children: Mary L. Bone, Sarah A. Clawson, Lorita M. Bone, John C. Bone, and Anna M. Escapita. She also has eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, each carrying forward her strength, grace, and the beautiful imprint of her soul.
Sarah was affectionately called Sally by her family and friends, but her favorite name was Gma.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find solace in knowing that she is at rest, embraced in divine love, and watching over us always.
Her funeral and celebration of life will be held at St Anthony Catholic Church in Steinauer on October 3, 2026. The service will commence with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m.
