Marvin Lee Edwards

Marvin Lee Edwards, 83, of Table Rock and Omaha NE, died peacefully from complications of Lewy Body Dementia and cancer on February 20, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Doris Edwards and his second wife, Norva Harvey Edwards.

Marvin was born May 12, 1941 in Bethany, Missouri. He graduated from Bethany High School and attended the University of Missouri until he joined his father’s Cameronbased business- Edwards Lumber company.

While living in Cameron, Marvin met his first wife, Amira Zapata. In 1973, Marvin, Amira and their two daughters moved to Bedford, IA where Marvin established his own Edwards Lumber Company. In 1977, they moved to St. Joseph, MO where Marvin opened up the Coin and Jewelry Exchange.

Following Marvin’s divorce from Amira, Marvin married his second wife, Norva Harvey in 1986. He took over Edwards Lumber Company of Table Rock in 1989. Marvin, Norva and their three children moved to Pawnee City in 1989, Humboldt in 1995 and Table Rock in 2010. Marvin’s entrepeneurial spirit defined this phase of his life. While buying and selling walnut trees, Marvin collected antiques and other collectibles; enjoyed playing pool and spending time with family and friends.

Marvin is survived by his brother Ervin “Bud” Edwards of Cameron, MO, sister Shirley Boston-Otis of Liberty, MO, his beloved children, Vonna Mitchell (husband Mike) of Huachuca City, AZ, Charisse Litteken (husband David, grandchildren Grace and Caroline)of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, Matthew Schlimme (wife Emily and grandchildren Juniper and Forrest) of Milwaukee, WI, Leigh Edwards (grandchildren Brandon and Weslyn) of David City, NE, Ken Edwards (fiancée Emily Hofner) of Omaha, NE and his first wife, Amira Benedict of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN.

A memorial service will take place at United Methodist Church in Humboldt, NE at 2 p.m.on Friday, March 14.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Lewy Body Association or the Table Rock (NE) Historical Society.
