September 18, 1956 ~ April 14, 2025
Pamela Carmine, 68, of Cortland, NE. was born September 18, 1956 in Beatrice to Dwight and Shirley (Steiner) Morehead. Her lengthy and brave battle with cancer ended April 14, 2025. She was supported on this final journey by visits, phone calls, and messages from countless family and friends.
Pam was the fourth child welcomed into a family of one boy and seven girls. She learned at an early age in a family of eight children you have to speak loudly and repeatedly to be heard. She always made sure everyone knew her opinion.
Pam attended Beatrice Public Schools, Lewiston Consolidated Schools, and Joseph’s College of Beauty. She made many career changes in her working life, perhaps the one she enjoyed most and excelled at was working with and accommodating residents in care facilities. As Activities Director she routinely took residents on leisurely drives through small towns and rural communities, regaling them with stories as they traveled. The stories may not have been based in fact but her passengers were highly entertained.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Beverly, Judy and Sandy; nieces Kylie and Lacey Lenners.
Survivors include Pam’s partner in life of 40 years, Lowell “Chris” Christiansen; her precious Yorkie, Holly, and loyal four-legged pal, Beau; daughter Jamie (David) Russell; grandchildren Gates, Gavin and Gracen Russell; brother Dwight (Colleen) Morehead; sisters Dawn (Terry) Stake, Beth Lenners, Janet (Allen) Sedlacek; aunts Betty Hahn and Jackie Feeselman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including Chris’s children, daughter Lisa Christiansen and son Corey (Miranda) Christiansen.
Pam gave orders her body was to be cremated and there would be no public services. The family is respecting her wishes and will gather privately in the near future for a time of sharing, love and remembrance.
