Beth Miller, 75, of Pawnee City, Nebraska and Edgerton, KS passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas with her family at her bedside. She was born on January 8, 1948, to Thomas and Merna (Schick) Elson in McCook, Nebraska. She was raised in Curtis, Nebraska. She graduated high school from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in 1966. She graduated college from the University of Nebraska in 1970 with degrees in Home Economics and Journalism. She was united in marriage to Robert Miller on April 3, 1970. She graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1973 in Journalism. She began her teaching career at Gardner Edgerton High School in 1975 as a Family and Consumer Science teacher and she spent 29 years there until she retired in 2004. She touched the lives of over 5000 students during her career. She was proud of all the clubs and events she sponsored during her teaching career. She was a proud mother of 3 children Travis, Jennifer, and Amanda, who she enjoyed being involved in their lives. She loved spending time with family and friends along with gardening, cooking and as well as traveling to 48 states. She was involved in community service throughout her entire life. She was the first Edgerton Jaynes President. She was Kansas Teacher of the Year winner. She enjoyed spending time with her cat Miss Kitty along with her daughter’s dogs Lizzie, Lillie, Teddy, Charlotte and Beanz. She was a gardener and was involved in 4-H most of her life. She was a blood and platelet donor. Beth was an avid collector and a family history buff. She loved all things connected to her family.

She is survived by her husband Robert Guy, her daughters Jennifer Christine, Amanda Mae, and husband Randy. She is also survived by her sister in laws, Lorinda Elson and Ramona Miller, brother Eldon and wife Sue Elson and her brother in laws Bob Ward and Jerry Jacobitz. She also is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews along with many cousins and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her son Travis Miller, her parents, Tom and Merna Elson, parents in law Willis and Cleta Mae Miller, her brothers Dale Elson and Richard Elson, her sister-in-law Karleen Wende and Kathleen Jacobitz and brother-in-law Galen Miller and Dale Wende.

Funeral Services 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2023, United Methodist Church, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Pastor Lauri Beach officiating. Visitation Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Memorials to family choice for a later destination.
