December 16, 1948 – November 25, 2023 Dianne M. Nevrkla, 74, of Kearney formerly of Ord passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023; at Good Samaritan Society-St. Luke’s in Kearney, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023; at First United Methodist Church in Ord. Reverend Spenser Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the VFWAuxiliary. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements (www.ordmemorialchapel. com). Dianne Marie was born December 16, 1948, at Pawnee City (in the old Annex), Nebraska to Kermit H. and Margery M. (Buman) Droge. She was raised in DuBois, Nebraska and attended East Star Rural School and graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1966.

Following high school Dianne worked in Lincoln at Globe Laundry, Russell Stover’s and Good Year. On September 9, 1969, Dianne was united in marriage to Donnie Richard Nevrkla at Faith United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1971, the couple moved to Donnie’s grandparent’s farm west of Ord, Nebraska. They were blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Amy.

Dianne was employed at the Airport and Hillcrest Hotels and the First United Methodist Church in Ord. Later, she started her own painting business.

She was a member of the Ord First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women; VFW Auxiliary and the Neighborly Sister’s Extension Club.

Dianne enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and gardening. She sewed, painted and refinished crafts; and enjoyed antique hunting. Her favorite times were spent with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Honey.

Survivors include her two daughters, and sons-in-law, Michelle and Jared Rinck of Belton, Missouri and Amy and Ryan Shearer of Kearney; and a brother and three sisters-in-law, Gary and Mary Droge, Diane Droge all of Pawnee City and Debbie Burger of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie who passed away on March 9, 2007; a sister and brother-inlaw, Denise and David Burger; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Droge.
