August 14, 1929 – December 1, 2023 Dolly completed her earthly journey and has entered God’s Kingdom for a world of eternity.

Dolly Jane (Ford) Hunzeker 94 years old formerly of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on December 1, 2023, at Maple Heights in Hiawatha, Kansas. Dolly was born on August 14, 1929, near Goin, Tennessee to James Harrison Ford and Mossie Relda Housley. She graduated from high school in Greenback, Tennessee in 1948. She attended the University of Tennessee from 1948-1951.

Dolly traveled the United States on a bus as an undercover buyer/customer service agent for J.C. Penney Stores. She responded to a pen pal request and met Kenneth Hunzeker while he was serving in Hawaii with the United States Navy.

Dolly and Kenneth Wayne Hunzeker were married on November 15, 1953. Together Dolly and Kenneth established their farm near DuBois, Nebraska, raising livestock, crops, and their beloved daughters.

Dolly taught Sunday school at the St. John’s Reformed Church and upon its closure, they joined Four Mile Congregational church.

Dolly and Kenneth retired from the farm, they moved to their farmhouse near Table Rock, then relocated to Pawnee City, Nebraska. Following Kenneth’s death on June 11, 2018, Dolly resided in Falls City, Nebraska, then completed her life in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mossie Ford, husband Kenneth, and a daughter, Relda.

Dolly will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sharan Kerl and Mary (David) Kent, 5 grandchildren, Anita (Richard) Urio, Elizabeth (Stephen) Glenn, Seth Kent, Heather (Alex) Evert, Wyatt (Alison) Kerl, 7 great grandchildren, Deborah and Caroline Urio, Elly, Krista and Sophie Evert, Aubrey and Grant Kerl, surviving siblings include, 2 sisters, Eva Jean Marine of Seymour, TN, and Ann (John) Jones of Decatur, AL.

Services 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Officiating Pastor Howard Blecha. Visitation one hour before service at Wherry Mortuary. Interment at Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Memorials to Four Mile Church, rural Humboldt, Nebraska.
