Dianne M. Nevrkla, 74, of KearRussell E. Stolze, 83, of Pawnee City, NE, formerly of Emerson, NE, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home in Pawnee City, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson is assisting with the services.

Russell was born August 19, 1940 to William (Bill) and Edna (Hasse) Stolze. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. He served on various boards including church council, Emerson-Hubbard school board and Northeast Nebraska Pork Council. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and taught high school vocational agriculture for two and onehalf years before he started farming.

He married Elda (Fleischman) on August 5, 1962 and to this union four children were born. Brenda (Kevin) Jensen of Bellevue, Laurie (Alan) Smyth of Pawnee City, Scott (Jackie) Stolze of Emerson, estranged daughter Tammy Miller of Hubbard.

He is survived by his wife, and children, six grandchildren, a sister Wilma Pallas of Emerson, a brother Donald Stolze of Norfolk.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Lauretta Stolze and a brotherin-law Milton Pallas.
